All the new challenges of Derthona Basket
The Board of Directors of Bertram Yachts Derthona Basket met on 16 May 2020 to address issues related to the conclusion of the 2019/2020 sports season and the planning of the 2020/2021 sports season.
The Board of Directors approved the financial situation of the Club as of 31/03/2020 which is in balance despite the contraction of the main sources of revenue (tickets and sponsorships) following the lockdown measures to deal with the COVID-19 emergency starting last month of March.
The proposals for new agreements with the members under contract for the 2020/2021 season were presented to the Assembly by CEO Marco Picchi, remodeled in light of the changed economic conditions which will lead the Club to a significant reduction in the budget for the next season sporty. At the same time, sincere appreciation was expressed towards the members who have accepted the Company's proposals in recent weeks, demonstrating a great sense of belonging and responsibility in such a delicate moment.
Having analyzed the current developments and the possible scenarios of the championships to come, the Board of Directors decided to proceed with the registration to the A2 Series by the deadline set for 31 July 2020, setting the first objectives for the near future thanks to the intervention of Dr. Beniamino Gavio, representing the main sponsor Bertram Yachts.
Derthona Basket wishes to maintain a role of great centrality for the sporting and social world of a territory that is experiencing moments of great drama and apprehension in the belief that only inclusive and engaging projects can stimulate the rebirth of the economic and social fabric of the Tortona area.
The activity of the First Team must be the driving force of a movement that will dedicate an even greater interest to all basic activities with particular attention to the renewed needs of children and their families, evaluating the opportunity of new forms of collaboration with the institutes city schools.
The renewed commitment of the Gavio family in hoping for a rapid conclusion of the bureaucratic process that will lead to the start of work on the new Cittadella dello Sport was unanimously welcomed with great satisfaction as a symbol of a new driving force for the entire Derthona project.
