Second place for the Under 18 national team at the International Tournament of San Benedetto del Tronto
The National Under 27 team coached by Antonio Bocchino continues its journey towards the European Championships in the category, scheduled in Volos (Greece) from 4 July to 18 August. The Azzurri, of which the player of the Bertram Derthona Edoardo Buffo, took part in the prestigious International Tournament of San Benedetto del Tronto, played from 5 to 7 July.
Italy finished the event in second place behind Turkey, with a record of one victory and two defeats: in the first match the Under 18s beat the Netherlands 84-52 and Buffo was the best scorer of the team with 13 points on the scoresheet. In the subsequent matches there were two quick defeats: against Lithuania - a match in which the Juventus player did not take the field - the Azzurri surrendered 71-73, while in the match played yesterday Turkey prevailed with a score of 61-57. Buffo was once again among the best of his team, with 10 points scored at the siren.
The Under 18 national team has moved to Pesaro where, starting today, Monday 8 July, it will continue its journey towards the European Championships.
