The Regional Beginners Jamboree took place yesterday in Tortona
An intense day of basketball took place yesterday, Sunday 26 May, at the Armana and Codevilla gyms of the 'Uccio Camagna' building, which hosted the men's and women's Regional Jamboree for rookies. The tournament, played with the 3 against 3 formula, saw the participation of thirty-two men's teams and twenty-four women's teams. Over two hundred athletes, including boys and girls, took to the field during the day, in a public setting made important by the presence of numerous parents and coaches from the various teams.
Three Bertram Derthona quartets took part in the men's event, playing on equal terms against the opponents they faced: the first Juventus quintet was formed by Cervini, Calvaresi, Omoregie and Magni, the second by Ablatico, Bordoni, Borasi and Dalocchio and the third by Vio, Acquini, Mazzarotto and Emiliani.
An important contribution to the realization of the event, from an organizational and logistical point of view, was provided by Alessio Gaudio, responsible for Juventus minibasketball, and from Stefano Degrada, coach of the Aquilotti team. Furthermore, some athletes from the Bertram Derthona youth sector collaborated in the success of the Jamboree: these are Umberto Bagnasco, Alberto Nizzola, Andrea Melisi, Niccolò Sala, Leonardo Pezzulla e Giulio Lombardi who took turns on the various playing fields throughout the day.
The Jamboree was an opportunity to see some of the best athletes in the region at work, who during the sporting year achieved important results in their respective Provincial Competitive Rookie Trophies.
This is the comment on the day by the Juventus minibasket manager Alessio Gaudio: ʺI am very proud to have managed, together with the Federation, to organize this event in Tortona: I would like to congratulate Luca Colombi and Davide Oliveri for the success of the event. I also want to thank and above all the guys on my staff and the Under 16s who helped me make things work as best as possible. Bringing between 600 and 700 people to Tortona for a mini-basketball event is a source of great pride for me and I believe it is for the club too. Events like this underline that, together with Casale Monferrato, we are a point of reference; naturally this must be a stimulus for us to continue growing in the future too.
