Bertram Derthona, Marco Ramondino is the new head coach

Bertram Derthona communicates that an agreement has been reached with Marco Ramondino for the role of first team head coach. Born in '82, Ramondino has just completed a four-year experience at Junior Casale Monferrato, with which he reached the playoff final last season, at the end of which he was also awarded the Serie A2 "Coach of the Year" award.

CAREER – Ramondino began his career as a coach at a very young age, entering the youth sector of Scandone Avellino – under the guidance of Andrea Capobianco – in the 2000/01 season, when he was not even 18 years old. Also in Avellino he became Zare Markovski's assistant in Serie A in the 2002/03 season.

From 2003 to 2005 he held the dual role of assistant coach to Andrea Capobianco and head of the youth sector in Salerno, before undertaking the experience as head coach in 2005/06 leading Ferentinum Battipaglia in C1. The following year he reached the C1 playoff semi-final with Salerno, before moving to Jesi where he took on the double role of assistant of the first team and coach of the U19 team.

In 2008 he was on Andrea Capobianco's staff in Teramo, in an unforgettable year for the Abruzzo club which ended with third place in the regular season and qualification for the EuroCup. In 2011 Ramondino became assistant of the newly formed Biancoblù Bologna and of the Under 18 national team, before moving to Veroli in 2012/13: during that season he was assistant to Franco Marcelletti, while in the following one he took on the role of head coach, leading the team to sixth place in the standings and qualifying for the playoffs. From 2014 to 2018 he was the coach of Junior Casale Monferrato, with which he qualified for the playoffs for four consecutive years and on two occasions participated in the Final Eight of the A2 Italian Cup, in 2016 and 2018.

Ramondino also participated in five editions of the European Championships (Under 18 and Under 16) covering the role of assistant of the national youth teams and was head coach of the Italy Under 16 team at the EYOF (European Youth Summer Olympic Festival) in 2015.

This is the welcome from president Roberto Tava: ʺWe trust that with the arrival of Marco Ramondino a spark will be ignited in the team which will favor the achievement of the desired results which, to date, for various reasons, have not yet arrived. Our hope is that he can do an excellent job and that he can quickly get in tune with the team, staff and fans starting from tomorrow's match at the PalaOltrepò in which we will need everyone's support to unite in a delicate moment from which we want to get out of the as fast as possible. In conclusion, I would like to greet Lorenzo Pansa, for whom I renew my unchanged personal and professional respect.

Thus Marco Ramondino: “I was presented with an extremely important opportunity to join a Club of great ambition and perspective, which I chose to accept, aware of entering a context that is experiencing a moment of difficulty. I am extremely enthusiastic and eager to work as best as possible to give vent to the passion and determination that I perceived from the first conversations with the CEO Marco Picchi, the head of the technical area Gianluca Petronio and Dr. Beniamino Gavioʺ.
