The clash between the leaders of the class of Group A of the Next Gen Cup goes to Carpegna Prosciutto Papalini Pesaro. In the opening match of the second stage in Rovereto, Bertram Yachts Tortona suffered its first defeat of the season in the Legabasket event reserved for U19 teams. Excellence of the sixteen clubs of Serie A, which will give the top four in each of the two groups access to the Final Eight in Naples from 10 to 12 April.

The Juventus starting quintet sees Baldi, Errica, Bellinaso, Biaggini and Tandia on the pitch, but Pesaro immediately emerges better from the starting blocks, taking advantage of Tortona's discreet initial lack, broken by 1/2 to Baldi's free throws (5-1 on 4th). Coach Ansaloni tries to take cover by bringing in the Zanetti-Farias duo and it is Zanetti himself - on loan for the tournament from Vanoli Cremona - who scores the first basket from the Bianconeri field after more than five minutes with a bomb after the Marche players had escaped at 10-1. The 2/12 from the field, the 5 turnovers, the 4-18 in rebounds and the -4 team rating, the figures that condemn Bertram to -13 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the script begins to change for the better for Ansaloni's boys, Errica breaks free with two shots from beyond the arc and the deficit drops below double figures (23-16 at the 17th), also favored by the strong inaccuracy from the opponents' foul line. However, they escape again on +11 with Prenga signing the +11 from the Marche with whom we go to the long half-time break.

The second half starts with a bang with a 4-point game from Errica, Zanetti strengthens his hopes by scoring -5 (30-25), Sablich takes charge of repelling the comeback for his team but ten minutes from the end it is still -5 Tortonese thanks to the 3/3 to Biaggini's free throws for a foul on a shot from mid-court at the end of the third quarter. Tortona wastes the opportunity to get even closer several times in the first part of the final period, so Tarallo's activism under the basket and Maretto's seven points in a row sign the new gap beyond ten which effectively closes the contest with four minutes to spare (53-40).

Tomorrow at 17 pm the second of the four matches of the Lions scheduled at the PalaMarchetti, against Pallacanestro Trieste. Live streaming on www.legabasket.it and Eleven Sports.
