New additions to Bertram's 2025-26 staff
Bertram Derthona Basket 's summer of big changes continues in various sectors of the Lions' staff.
Following Mario Fioretti's recent appointment as head coach, the Bianconeri club announces the arrival of Andrea Vicenzutto to the technical staff , who will be one of the former Olimpia Milano's assistant coaches. The 34-year-old from Pordenone is being brought back to Italy from Derthona after following Dragan Sakota to AEK Athens from their previous, shared experience in Brindisi. It was on the Greek bench that he faced Tortona in the Round of 16 of last season's Champions League. "I am extremely pleased to have received the call from Coach Fioretti asking me to become his assistant at Derthona. Working with a coach like him, with his profile, experience, and background, in a place like Tortona, is a real source of pride for me. I can't wait to meet all the members of the organization in person and enter the Cittadella dello Sport for the first training session. I hope this season in our new home can be special . "
Alongside the former AEK player, Iacopo Squarcina , a Turin native born in 88 who is playing his third consecutive season with the Bianconeri, will remain on the bench: "The most important thing for me was the club's and coach Fioretti's trust in me: it's a sign I'm holding dear and on which I've based my motivation for the coming year. I'm happy to be able to learn from Mario and Andrea Vicenzutto. I'm hungry for basketball; being able to explore different perspectives and test myself in a context I already know, but with different players, is incredibly stimulating."
After 11 years at Vanoli Cremona, 41-year-old Jacopo Torresi, Bertram's new Strength and Conditioning Coach, has arrived in Piedmont. A native of Montegranaro, Marche, he will oversee the athletic and physical preparation of the Bianconeri: "I thank the club for giving me this great opportunity. The Gavio family and President Marco Picchi believed in me, and I'm truly excited to begin this new journey. I know I'm joining a very ambitious club, with a great structure, which has demonstrated its desire to improve over the years. I will be replacing a great professional like Andrea Baldi, a dear friend and colleague, to whom I wish the best of luck for his future."
The role of Team Manager has also been renewed, with Tommaso Bergamini taking over . Born in Imola in 1989, the 20-year-old comes from four seasons with Virtus Bologna, from 2020 to 2024, where he celebrated a Scudetto, a Eurocup, and three Italian Super Cups: “After my past experiences, I was looking for a new project. When Derthona called, I had few doubts, because I believe they have all the necessary components to work well. Starting with the solidity of the club and the project in general, their facilities, which with the completion of the Cittadella, are top-notch. And above all, the quality of the people who are part of this project, and of their ideas.”
Michele Talamazzi will be the International Scout. Cremonese, 43, a former journalist, is leaving Pallacanestro Reggiana after five years, where he performed excellent scouting and team management work: "I thank Dr. Gavio and President Picchi for the wonderful opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and constantly growing project. I will put all my passion and skills at the service of the club, aiming to offer the best possible support to the coaching staff. Joining Derthona Basket is an extraordinary professional boost."
