The LBA Super Cup in Tortona: a look at the Trophy Tour in the tournament's host city. Pecchia: "We can't wait to play it."
A full day dedicated to the 2026 SisalClub LBA Super Cup . Yesterday, Friday, September 11, the Trophy Tour organized in collaboration by the Municipality of Tortona, LBA, Derthona Basket, and Gestione Cittadella, was a tasty preview of what the city of Tortona will experience next weekend, September 19-20, when the first trophy of the Serie A season will be played at the Nova Arena. The hosts will face Bertram Derthona Tortona, along with Armani Milano, Virtus Bologna, and Umana Reyer Venezia, who will face Bertram in the first semifinal on Saturday the 19th at 5:00 PM, followed by the other semifinal between Milan and Bologna scheduled for 7:45 PM. The final the following day at 5:00 PM is up for grabs.
Piazza Duomo was the protagonist of the initial and final parts of the day, with playgrounds set up for the occasion that allowed children and young people to play in an evocative setting during the day and in the evening the “Vibrazioni Summer Show” show with the Fada Lab dance troupe, live music by Freesound and a DJ set by Disco-nnect.
Derthona Basket's official cheerleaders, the Derthona Cheer, also took center stage. After their performance in the square, they paraded the Super Cup to the Namastè Book & Coffee bookstore , where a Meet & Greet with Derthona captain Andrea Pecchia took place . Interviewed by Sky Sport , with journalist Gaia Accoto in attendance, the Juventus player was greeted with affection by a large crowd of fans in the venue's outdoor area and fielded many questions from the audience, including Mayor Federico Chiodi, Sports Councilor Giordana Tramarin, and Derthona Basket President Marco Picchi, in the front row. The result was an unconventional interview in which Pecchia revealed his passions outside of basketball, from Sky talent shows ("I don't miss a single one, obviously I also saw the first episode of the new season of X Factor, Gabbani is my favourite judge" ), burraco ("I'm very good, epic challenges emerge even with president Picchi" ), Juventus, cooking ( "But my wife is better, I have to admit" ), and revealed some curiosities about the new Bertram.
Regarding the sporting aspect of the LBA Super Cup, Pecchia didn't shy away from the team's ambitions: "The Super Cup is the first trophy available this season, so everyone wants to win it, there's no doubt about that. So it's an event we prepare for with great enthusiasm. We've played several preseason games, but now we're playing for something at stake, and there's an extra boost because playing at home at the Nova Arena is truly special. Even talking to my teammates, we're really eager to play the first match, the semifinal against Venice."
Playing for Derthona is a wonderful, stimulating experience. Representing this city is important. It motivates the entire team to try their best, and it makes me proud to do so as captain. That's what I've also told my teammates. We're objectively fortunate to have a facility like the Facility, which allows us to train in this heat even during the summer, thanks to the air conditioning and a brand-new arena like the Nova Arena. It's true, and I'm happy that other new arenas are now coming to Cantù, Bologna, and Venice, but our club was the first to do so in Italy . The atmosphere in our Cittadella della Sport is family-friendly, and that makes everything easier. The player only has to think about playing basketball, and these days, I assure you, that's not something to be taken for granted.
