Bertram brings size and concreteness inside the area: Polish center Dominik Olejniczak signed
Bertram Derthona Basket announces that it has signed an agreement with Polish athlete Dominik Olejniczak.
Soon to turn 29, Olejniczak is a 213 cm tall, 118 kg pivot, coming off a four-year stint in the French top league, equally split between the first two experiences with Gravelines-Dunkerque and the last two seasons with Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball. With Saint-Quentin he closed last season with a total of 43 games played between Pro A, Champions League and Coupe de France, with overall averages of 10.4 points and 7.3 rebounds in 22.2 minutes, shooting 61.0% from two points and 78.3% from the free throw line. He was the best rebounder in the French tournament both in total (7.3) and offensive rebounds (3.1).
A performance maintained in the 9 games played in BCL, where he was among the top rebounders (7.2) and for two-point shooting percentages (68.4%) of the European competition, figures that together with the 10.1 points and 14.2 evaluation in 22.0' per game contributed to reaching the Play-In, then lost in the decisive game-3 against Galatasaray. In his European year, the double double of 21 points and 10 rebounds for 30 evaluation against a well-known opponent to Derthona, La Laguna Tenerife, stands out.
Dominik was also among the protagonists of the biggest surprise of the quarterfinals of the Leaders Cup, the Coupe de France, in which Saint-Quentin eliminated the Euroleague team Paris Basketball also thanks to the 13 points and 13 rebounds in 22' of the new center from Tortona.

CAREER Born in Torun, Poland, on July 1, 1996, Olejniczak earned his basketball education in American colleges, spending time at NCAAs at Drake, Ole Miss, and Florida State, before making his professional debut in his homeland at Trefl Sopot. From there, he moved on to France for a long period before moving to Italy. His relationship with the Polish national team was crucial, with which he finished eighth at the 2019 World Championship and nearly reached the podium at EuroBasket 2022, finishing fourth.
