The press conference to present the General Director Ferencz Bartocci and Technical manager of the youth sector Massimo Olivieri, two new figures in Bertram Derthona's organization chart.
The Mayor of Tortona Federico Chiodi, host on this occasion, gave the opening speech of the press conference:ʺI thank the Club for choosing the Romita Room for this presentation. Derthona is an important business reality and the collaboration with us started in the best way. The common intent is to promote initiatives that can involve both the community, through the transmission of important social values, and the territory. In this sense, the process for the construction of the building is continuing: the next step will be the City Council meeting on 22 July, while I expect the work to begin in the autumn. The addition of two new figures in the company demonstrates Bertram Derthonaʺ's desire to invest and grow.
ʺThe Municipality has been an important ally in the company's growth path for some time now. Our intention – continued the president Roberto Tava – is to continue the consolidation that began a few years ago: in this regard the figures of Bartocci and Olivieri they intend to strengthen our structure. Massimo is an important professional and will have the task of supervising all the activities of the youth sector, as it is essential to draw from the youth system for the first team. From the first days he was here, I appreciated Ferencz's experience, his qualities and his ability to solve problems. We are attentive and ready for a season of relaunch after the disappointing last year: we therefore want to start again without making any proclamations but with great enthusiasm.".
The General Director then spoke Ferencz Bartocci, who explained the reasons behind his choice to come to Tortona:ʺI thank the Mayor, who is a very helpful person, for his hospitality and I thank the club for wanting me. Tortona is a very important place and, from the outside, is considered one of the clubs with the greatest growth prospects. This is why I feel great pride in being here and I believe it is important that all components of the company are involved in order to work well, having the duty to give 100% in our missions. As a Club we will pay attention to the youth sector and mini basketball to try to increase the number of registered children; we will also have to be involved in the social life of the city and propose initiatives dedicated to both large entrepreneurs and small traders, as well as season ticket holders and enthusiasts in general..
It was then Massimo Olivieri, new technical manager of the Juventus youth sector, to provide the first information regarding his role and some aspects of the activity: ʺI thank the Mayor for the hospitality and for the exchange of opinions we had. I also want to say thank you to the company for the proposal of a three-year project which sees me as the protagonist in a highly sought-after position and which has passion and potential to grow. My idea is that coaches and instructors must be available to families and have both the task of recognizing talent and the duty of making children the best people possible. Furthermore, we would like to involve parents in meetings that we consider important (nutrition, bullying, technical regulations) and make or strengthen agreements with other companies. We don't want to lose any kids and we want to expand the base of our nursery, offering quantities with the aim of increasing the quality of our workʺ.
Bertram Derthona CEO Marco Picchi concluded the press conference with some considerations on the team that will face the next A2 season: ʺWe believe we have built a good team structure for the championship, based on the technical indications provided by coach Marco Ramondino. Compared to last season, we wanted to deepen our knowledge of the players we chose as much as possible, in an almost obsessive way. The Americans who will be selected must have characteristics that go well with the group of Italians already present on our roster.
