Victory in the seasonal debut in Serie A2 Old Wild West for Bertram Derthona who, forced to give up Tavernelli and Čepić, led the match against Bergamo from the start, then extended their lead decisively in the fourth half of the game. The match started in favor of Derthona, who showed intensity and energy in both halves of the pitch: after Martini's triple - which made it 7-2 - in the 4th minute coach Calvani interrupted the game. In the following minutes the team coached by Ramondino continues to lead in scoring, closing the first ten minutes ahead 20-12. In the second half of the game, the guests found good team solutions in attack and progressively shortened their gap: after Zugno's basket, which was worth -2 (25-23 at 14'), coach Ramondino stopped the game. The match is now balanced and thrives on baskets arriving after excellent ball circulation; in the last minutes of the first half Bertram - led by the initiatives of Gaines and Mascolo - increased the score: at 20' the score was 42-35. Upon returning to the locker rooms, the guests started better, returning to just one point behind (42-41) before suffering an 8-0 break, signed by Mascolo and Gaines, which was worth 50-41 and forced coach Calvani to interrupt the competition. Coming out of the time-out comes Bergamo's reaction, thanks to triples from Costi and Parravicini, who return to just one possession away (56-54 at 29'): the partial ends with the score of 58-56 for Derthona. At the start of the last quarter, the hosts' new progression arrives, driven by De Laurentiis: his baskets make it 65-57 in the 33rd minute, forcing Bergamo to stop the match. Coming out of the suspension, the guests missed a few opportunities to close their gap, which - on the contrary - increased to 75-61 (with a dunk by Gražulis) in the 37th minute. In the final Derthona controls the game and achieves a success 84-69. The next round of the championship will see the Bianconeri on stage in Rieti, Sunday 20 October 2019 at 12.00: the match will be broadcast live on Sportitalia.
