Gabriele Ganeto: “We want to build something important and achieve our goals”

Arrived in the summer to reinforce the wings department of the Bertram Derthona, Gabriele Ganeto he was among the first players to make contact with the city on the occasion of the presentation of the 'Cittadella dello Sport' which took place on 18 July. A project that the player defines It is unique in Italy and, without wanting to exaggerate, also in other countries, for its foresight and ambition. For me it is an honor to be part of this new idea born in Tortona and I want to build something important with my teammates: we started working more than a week ago, we must be ready from the first friendly matches˝.

For Ganeto, originally from Turin, playing in Tortona represents a return home afterwards ˝I haven't played in Piedmont for more than ten years: I'm very happy to be here and I thank the club for the opportunity it has given me. Getting closer to home gives me more motivation to do well over the course of the season˝. Over the last few years, the player born in '87 has faced Derthona Basket several times as an opponent, finding teams ˝characterized by the great organization on the pitch, linked to the mentality and toughness that the various coaches who have succeeded have transmitted to the players. The strength has always been the group, there were no real stars within the roster. The company, with its ambition, has also grown a lot over these years.

Currently engaged in Salice d'Ulzio for the altitude training part, the team will return to Tortona on Tuesday 28th. The following day the first friendly against Borgosesia is scheduled, which will open the cycle of matches that will lead to the scheduled LNP Super Cup for Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September. In this first phase it is important ˝be ready, because every training session is aimed at doing the best we can right from the first friendly matches – says Ganeto – until we get to the Super Cup, which will be a litmus test to evaluate our work and that of the other high-level teams, as well as a stimulus to then start well in the championship too˝.

A championship, the next of A2, which promises to be very competitive, also due to the increased number of promotions and relegations that ˝has pushed numerous companies to set up important staffs to try to exploit the opportunity. I think in recent years – says Ganeto – the level has progressively risen: the greater number of relegations has also contributed to this. We were built with a certain mentality that can allow us to achieve various objectives over the course of the season˝.
