Derthona Timorasso Zerba Antica: a limited edition local excellence
Love for their homeland, the promotion and recognition of its excellence, and the desire to donate to charity during this delicate time. These three aspects inspired Cantine Volpi, a longtime jersey partner of Derthona Basket, to present the Derthona Timorasso Zerba Antica project : a limited edition of just six hundred hand-numbered bottles of 2016 Timorasso, preserved for this very special occasion.
In 2020, in fact, Il Piccolo Cottolengo of Tortona, a care and assistance home and the pride of the Tortona area, celebrates eighty years of life spent alongside minors suffering from mental and physical deficits. To make the bottle even more special, the label design, entrusted to the creativity of Memo Vithana, an Italian artist of Sri Lankan origin who has embraced the cause.
Cantine Volpi thus takes to the field - as a great basketball team knows how to do - alongside Piccolo Cottolengo: the company will donate part of the proceeds from the sale of each single bottle to charity at the Piccolo Cottolengo Foundation in Tortona, which can be purchased both in the cellar and through e-commerce created specifically for the occasion.
This year's celebrations are not limited only to Piccolo Cottolengo: Derthona Basket, the community's sporting excellence, celebrated its 65 years of history. And as proof of the strong bond between the Club and Cantine Volpi, bottle number 65 of this limited edition was donated to the company.
Because the excellence of the territory always emerges, even more so in these moments of difficulty. From all of Derthona Basket, great applause goes to Cantine Volpi for having conceived and implemented this charitable initiative.
