Excellent performance of heart and character for Orsi Derthona, winning 74-83 on the difficult Cento parquet despite the absence of Reati and the ankle problem which required a precautionary rest for Greene IV at the start of the second period. Opposed to a Benedetto who is a candidate for a leading role in Serie B, Derthona is good at forming a square in defense and finding the resources in the young Conti, Alviti and Mascherpa to support Cosey in offensive production. After twenty minutes of substantial balance (23-18 Cento at 10', 35-35 at halftime), three almost consecutive three-point baskets by Alberto Conti lead to the partial that takes Derthona from 40-41 to 40- 50 between 23' and 25'. The second push arrives ten minutes later, this time signed by two "bombs" from Alviti which make it 58-71 in the 34th minute; Benedetto regroups and, led by Chiera (28 at the end, of which 17 in the second half) closes the score to 74-78, but a tap in on an offensive rebound by Alviti and a triple from the dribble by Cosey close the score and send the Derthona in the final at the Mazzoni Memorial. The Bianconeri will meet OraSì Ravenna again, having already met a week ago in Fidenza and winning against Bondi Ferrara on the pitch with the Under20 team in the first semi-final of the tournament.

Thus Demis Cavina: “Faced with many problems, tonight we were very precise and united in the defensive phase, making the difference when it was necessary to make it. I'm worried about the small injuries that are affecting us, but equally satisfied with the growth of the group and the continuity that the younger guys are also giving."
