Marco Picchi, CEO of Bertram Yachts Derthona Basket, following Stefano Sardara's statements which appeared this morning and after a discussion with all the members of the Board of Directors and its main Partner, declares the following:
“I am amazed and angry. I firmly believe in respecting the rules and the sporting institutions responsible for enforcing them. I represent a club that invests and plans, laying the foundations for the future with the upcoming construction of a Serie A facility. Reading opinions and suggestions that invite us to overturn the logic of existing promotions is totally unacceptable. For this reason Derthona Basket will immediately promote shared actions to ensure compliance with the existing rules, also with other companies that like us want to dream big.
I am aware that what I have read today is the thoughts of an individual, I wonder if Mr. Sardara expresses his very respectable opinions as the owner of an LBA club or the owner of an LNP club, at the same time I am fully convinced that The Basketball League and FIP do not have the slightest intention of overturning the existing rules, but I am already announcing that our Club will not lower its guard on the issue, declaring itself ready to get to the bottom of it even in the appropriate places."
