Victory of character and team for Bertram Dethona at the PalaBigi against UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia. After a first half characterized by balance, always led by the hosts by one/two possessions, in the third quarter the Lions consolidated in defense and overtook with the plays of Radosevic and Daum. In the last quarter, with clarity and determination, Bertram closed the match by rejecting all the home team's attempts to return. Of note are 6 players in double figures among the Tortona ranks: Dowe, Candi, Daum, Radosevic, Baldasso and Thomas.

First quarter of great balance at the PalaBigi: after the start of the UNAHOTELS brand, Bertram adapts and finds excellent offensive solutions, impacting the match. As evidence of the great balance on the pitch, the gap in favor of one of the two teams never goes beyond two possessions. At 10' the score was 25-24. Dowe inaugurates the second half before the new Reggio mini break sealed by his consecutive triples from Grant and Weber. Coach Ramondino calls the Lions back to the bench and upon returning to the field Strautins and Daum lead the counter break which brings back perfect parity (35-35). In the final comes the home team's new lead, with baskets from Galloway, who closes the first half 41-37.

Upon returning from the long break, Bertram moved up to +1 with 5 consecutive points from Radosevic. Hervey and Faye put their teammates back in front by 2 possessions, before the new break led again by Radosevic and Daum which gave Bertram the maximum advantage (53-60 with 2'51''). In the final stages of the quarter, UNAHOTELS tried to get closer, but it was Baldasso's triple that closed the score at 58-65.

In the last half Bertram took center stage in both halves of the pitch and scored an 11-0 run which brought her to +18. The Lions remained compact and solid for the entire 10', repelling all the home team's attempts to get closer and winning the match 77-90.

Thus coach Marco Ramondino at the end of the race: “This is an important victory for us for the team we faced. Reggio Emilia has demonstrated, in the matches played so far, that it puts the talent of its players into a system in which everyone is involved. This was their great strength in the first part of the season. For our part, it is worth underlining our ability to play decent basketball in the first part and to grow in the match, especially in defense. I believe that in the first half the difference was made by the points they scored on the counterattack and by the points from Smith, Galloway and Weber at the end of possessions. We improved on this in the match, while in attack we did what we had to do in the forty minutes."

Thus the President Marco Picchi at the end of the race: “I am proud of the boys' match because I believe that Reggio Emilia is a great team and winning on this pitch was not at all a given. I have two dedications: to the many Tortona fans who helped us and pushed us. And to Doctor Soldini and his staff because they have been difficult days, I made his phone ring at every hour of the day and night and this victory is very much about him".
