Interregional Serie B: Derthona Basketball Lab in the group with Piedmont and Lombardy. Formula and dates of the new, fourth national championship

In Group A of North-West Conference. These are the official coordinates of the participation of Derthona Basketball Lab to the new championship of Interregional Serie B which kicks off next season 2023/24 with 96 teams at the starting line, divided into four Conferences of 24 teams, each divided into two Divisions of 12.

The Juventus team was assigned to the group which sees the presence of 7 of the 8 Piedmontese teams in the category accompanied by 5 from Lombardy. Together with the DB Lab - which will also face the senior tournament in the new sports year with the youth team of the U19 Excellence fresh from the promotion from C Gold - there are College Basketball Borgomanero, Junior Libertas Casale Monferrato, Campus Piemonte Basketball, Oleggio Basket and the other newly promoted Collegno Basket and Amatori Basket Savigliano regarding the many regional derbies and Basketball Gallarate, Omnia Basket Pavia, Campus Varese, Robur Basket Saranno and Basketball 7 Laghi Gazzada representing part of the eleven Lombards present in the fourth national championship in order of importance.

FORMULA The regular season includes 22 days with home and away matches, in the second phase of the tournament each Conference will be divided into three pools of 8 teams according to the final placing in the regular season: i Play-in Gold, with the teams ranked first to fourth in the two Divisions that make up each Conference, i Play-in Silver, with the teams ranked fifth to eighth in the two Divisions and one Playouts which will see the ninth to twelfth places from both Divisions clash. In this second phase each team will play 8 matches with home and away matches against the 4 opponents of the other Division, taking with them the points obtained in the direct clashes with the other teams of their own. To the playoff (all best of 3 matches) the first six of the Gold Play-ins and the first two of the Silver Play-ins will advance to compete for a single promotion to the National Serie B. Each loser of the play-off final will play a best-of-3 series against the loser of the play-off final of another Conference and the winner will be promoted to B National, to which a total of 6 teams will therefore rise (the 4 winners of the play-off tables, plus the two winners of the play-offs between the losers of the play-off finals).

The last two classified of playout of each conference, however, they will immediately be relegated to the Unique C Series, while the third-to-last will make a cross-play-off with the third-to-last of another conference to save the category. There will be 10 relegations in total (the last two of the four playout tables, plus the two losers of the play-off between the third to last of the playouts).

DATE It starts on the weekend of October 1st, with the regular season closing scheduled for March 3rd. A two-week break and the second phase will start on March 17th and end on April 28th. The playoffs are scheduled to start on May 5th, with the last date for their conclusion being June 23rd. The playouts start on the same day, but they will end much earlier, on May 19th.
