Together in the territory: Derthona, BCC Castelnuovo and DB Lab united in the name Derthona Basket
A single, large sports organization capable of uniting the region's basketball excellence under the name Derthona Basket . This is the decision behind the merger, in name and purpose, of Derthona, BCC Castelnuovo Scrivia, and Derthona Basketball Lab, which, starting today, will be known under the shared name Derthona Basket.
The change and unification of the three clubs' names was strongly supported by all the clubs, who have been active for years in promoting basketball and the positive messages the world of sport can convey, with the involvement of numerous local stakeholders. This shared purpose, which has been active for years, will be further strengthened in the 2023/24 season, which will see all senior and youth teams take to the court, carrying the Derthona Basket name across Italy.
One of the key elements of this initiative is undoubtedly the Cittadella dello Sport , which will host training sessions for the men's Serie A, training sessions and matches for the women's Serie A2, and matches for the Serie B Interregionale as early as 2023/24. The facility , which will also house the Club's new offices, represents the foundation of a project that will see the completion of the new 5000-seat arena in 2024/25.
Derthona Basket, in addition to sporting activity, aims to be even more present in the area, through the creation of initiatives that involve and make protagonists both the schools and all the other actors who, with the Clubs, have organized events during of the last years. One of the first will be hosted right in Castelnuovo Scrivia on September 10th when we will have the honor of hosting Dan Peterson.
In the union of logo and naming, Derthona Basket and Castelnuovo Scrivia will maintain their own identity for fans: the first men's team will still be known as "the Lions", while the women's as "the Giraffes".
The Clubs' strong local identity is also expressed by the consolidated and strengthened relationship with the Gavio Group , which will once again be the title sponsor of the first two teams, men's and women's, with the Bertram and AutospedG brands providing lasting continuity with the recent past. The work done and the results achieved by their respective youth sectors have brought together high-level companies such as Allianz , which has become a sponsor of the Club this year, and Gulliver : their respective logos will appear as title sponsors on the match kits of the entire youth sector and minibasket (Allianz) and of the teams competing in the Men's Interregional Serie B (Gulliver) and the Women's Serie B (Gulliver).
