Allianz Derthona secured a resounding victory over Gorla PGC Cantù on the second day of the Under-19 Excellence National Finals. Coach Talpo's team took control of the game in the second quarter, imposing their pace and building a significant lead.
The opening period at PalaLuiss was a tight affair, with both teams back-and-forth without a real lead. The turning point came in the second period: the Lions upped the intensity, going on a 12-5 run and opening their first lead at +7, led by Di Meo and Bottelli. Cantù attempted to respond, but the Bianconeri's defensive solidity and effective transition allowed Tortona to extend their lead to 32-49 at halftime.
Upon returning to the court, Allianz Derthona accelerated further. Jošović and Coulibaly were the key players: the former led the attack with consistent drives and shots from beyond the arc, while the latter made an impact with energy and athleticism, opening the third quarter with a three-pointer and also adding a spectacular dunk on the break to make it 62-37. The lead quickly grew to 30 points, with the third quarter ending 71-43 (Jošović 21 points, Coulibaly and Bottelli 13).
In the final quarter, Tortona held firm control, continuing to widen their lead to a maximum of +36 with 1:30 left. The match ended 94-59, sealing Allianz Derthona's first victory in the U19 Excellence National Finals.
The next match will see the Bianconeri face the derby against GranTorino Draft, scheduled for tomorrow at 8pm at PalaLuiss, which will be decisive for the positioning in Group D
