There are those who are superstitious, there are those who want to continue along the lines of their career, those who are tied to their family and those who are tied to the magic of the NBA. Here's what's behind each player's choice.
Luca Garri and Paulius Sorokas decide to continue next season with 15 and 9 respectively. Both respect their tradition with a very important number for their career. However, there is a player who has been enchanted by the magic of the NBA since he was a child, by the plays and humility of Magic Johnson's number 32. Since then Melvin Johnson has decided to wear that shirt whenever he could. There are those like Meluzzi who decide to wear the number 4 in honor of his family and those like Stefanelli who choose his traditional 5. On May 12th the Montenegrin Divac was born and since then he has worn it a bit as a good luck charm. For Quaglia's number we need to take a leap into the past, when he won the championship at 22 years old with Fortitudo Bologna. Since then the number 14 has become fundamental for him since many emotions and beautiful goals are linked to it. Radonjic, the second Montenegrin to wear the black and white jersey, decides to wear number 11, a number to which he is very attached for family reasons. The superstitious Mei, in spite of bad luck, instead decides to wear number 17 since he tore two cruciates in the space of two years at 18 and 19. Lastly, Marco Spanghero decides to always wear number 45, a lucky charm given that he wore it the first year he won the championship and Italian cup, when numbers higher than 20 still had to be worn.
However, some numbers of the young players have changed: Pilati moves to number 7 and Apuzzo to number 13 while Billi confirms number 22 and the new arrival Fayssal Yahya, number 35.
