'Put sustainability at the centre': a new initiative at the Teatro Civico as part of 'PiantiAMO il futuro'
It took place this morning, at the Teatro Civico of Tortona, made available thanks to the precious collaboration of Municipality of Tortona, the event “Put sustainability at the CENTRE”, organized by Derthona Basket as part of the “PiantiAMO il futuro” project. The event was born from an idea shared between Danilo Boni, co-founder of Switch On Lab and Sustainable Events Advisor, and the Club, then collected by local schools.
The initiative began in the early morning, with the meeting between Alex Bellini, an explorer specialized in extreme feats, and the middle and high school children of the Tortona area.
Bellini, in conversation with Ottavia Belli (founder of SfusItalia), presented his latest unpublished video to the students and subsequently recounted the pollution damage he had the opportunity to observe during his adventures around the world.
At the end of the meeting, the middle school children stayed in the courtyard of the Annunziata to participate in the creative workshops organized by Sviluppo Ambiente and Cooperativa Agape starting from recycled materials.
The following students joined the initiative aimed at schools:
the Liceo Peano, the Marconi-Carbone, the Ciofs, the Tortona A Comprehensive, the Tortona B Comprehensive, the San Giuseppe Institute, the ODPF Santachiara Institute, the Bassa Valle Scrivia Comprehensive.
At the end of this first session, the event continued with a conference aimed at citizens and institutions, in particular the mayors of the area and some students in their final years of high school.
The round table, moderated by Dr. Giampaolo Frante, Communications Manager of the Gavio Group, saw the participation of some virtuous companies and entities who brought their testimony on the topic of sustainability.
After the initial greetings from the Mayor of Tortona, Federico Chiodi, the conference opened with the speech of Amelia Celia, Chief Sustainability Officer of the ASTM Group. Next it was time to Alex Bellini who, through the story of his extreme exploits, wanted to underline how a sustainable future also depends on the small gestures of each individual person.
Then there is space for virtuous realities such as the Ri-diamo Association of the municipality of Travacò Siccomario presented by the President Gianni Fioretto and the Mayor Domizia Cleni, SfusItalia by Ottavia Belli and Environment Management with the intervention of Marco Peretti. All moderated by Enzo Favoino of Zero Waste Europe.
Subsequently the word was passed to the CEO of Derthona Basket, Ferencz Bartocci who explained how the theme of sustainability is one of the main focuses in the construction of the Cittadella dello Sport in Tortona. The last to intervene were Federico Dossena by Ecopneus et al Gian Francesco Galanzino of Entsorga who presented the project “Let's Crush CO2”.
Finally, the conference ended with greetings from the President of Derthona Basket Marco Picchi, who made a point of thanking all the participants in the event and the speakers who followed one another on stage, reiterating the importance of "teamwork".
