And there are five! Omegna was also conquered

Cavina's band enjoys it! Fifth consecutive victory arrived on a difficult pitch like that of Verbania. Tortona is without Venuto but the hosts are also absent and injured. Cavina starts with Simoncelli, Galloway, Tavernari, Crockett and Rotondo. It starts with a triple from Tavernari and the two Americans who attack the home defense, forcing Magro to call a timeout. Tortona up to plus 11 before Omegna's return to make it 21-25 outside the first mini-interval. It resumes with a 7-0 guest score by Tavernari for 21-32 with 8'15” left before the long break. Omegna is in clear difficulty in rebounding (the final will be 47 to 18 in favor of Tortona with Crockett absolutely dominating at 19) and Tortona extends to plus 14 (28-42 at 4'00”). Omegna tries, first scores a 5-0 out of a timeout and climbs to 40-47 at the break.

Omegna throws his heart over the obstacle to return to the field and reaches the maximum 54-51 advantage for the home team. Cavina quickly calls the minute and upon returning Crockett and Galloway sign a 12-1 run (55-63 at 2'22”), Masciadri and Gurini allow Omegna to return again. The scoreboard reads 63-65 before the last 10 minutes of the match while Simoncelli definitively exits the match with an ankle injury. Tortona always has the game in hand but Tavernelli keeps the team in touch with the only flash of his game. It reaches 74-74 with 4'44" to go, basically a mini-extra period but a doubtful technician in Masciadri launches another 11-1 for the guests which effectively closes the match.

Tortona celebrates together with its audience (as always hot and numerous) who have arrived on the lake shore and enjoy the ranking while waiting to face Piacenza next Sunday at the PalaOltrepò.
