Coach Lorenzo Pansa towards his debut: “Eager to play for the two points up for grabs”
Just over 24 hours after Bertram Derthona's championship debut, we took stock with coach Lorenzo Pansa. These are his words on the first day of the championship, which will see the Bianconeri against the MexExtra Viola Reggio Calabria on Saturday evening at 20.30pm at the PalaOltrepo 'in Voghera.
Coach, what is the situation at Juventus? “We feel the curiosity to start comparing ourselves with real matches and with the two points up for grabs, aspects necessary to evaluate the level of readiness of a team that has played a growing pre-season but is well aware that it still needs to sort out many details of your game."
What are the sensations of debuting on a new bench? “We are used to experiencing the training week with emotion and we feel the match is the natural conclusion of the work, therefore the curiosity of seeing the team at work prevails over the emotion of the debut. Instead, we can't wait to have the first real contact with our audience, who we are sure will be able to give us that extra push we need."
La Viola is a team that is aiming to compete in a championship as a protagonist. “We face a team built with criteria, which can count on several quality players both among the Italians, where the veterans have been joined by some talented youngsters, and on two foreign players of the highest quality who already know our championship. This is a group that has a very specific technical identity, that plays with great defensive aggressiveness and that has excellent running ability in transition."
How did your training week go? “We had some hiccups, caused by some physical problems, but we were still able to work with good intensity and attention.”
