Third consecutive victory for coach Cavina's boys who, with a clear show of strength, conquered a difficult field like that of Matera. The game was balanced for two quarters then a run of 40-21 gave the victory to the Lions .

Game always in control with Tortona always ahead. The first few minutes were balanced but a partial score of 9-2 immediately arrived which put the guests at +7: 9-16. . Green and Bonessio close the gap, then Tagliabue responds from three to Crockett's bomb (16-19). Another triple, this time from Rotondo, allows Tortona to escape to +6, Matera comes back with free throws from Bonessio and Tagliabue: 20-22. In the final, Matera wasted the opportunity to equalize by scoring only one shot from the line with Bonessio and Tortona closed the first quarter in style with Rotondo's second triple: 21-25.

Another sprint start for the Piedmontese and with Valenti's dunk it goes 23-31. Tavernari responds first to Caceres and then to Richard's dunk, then it is Fallucca who brings the hosts closer to the guests midway through the second quarter: 29-33. . Matera wastes from the line but climbs to 31-33 but Simoncelli immediately silences PalaSassi with a very heavy triple 1'19” from the end. 37-34 Tortona at halftime.

Matera unable to react, Tortona gives themselves the stratospheric +23 with Rotondo, Galloway and Losi from the line: 50-73. With 31 seconds to go Losi scores two more points from the line for 50-77 while Matera breaks the fast only in the final moments with Baldasso and Bonessio's 2+1. It ends 55-77 amidst the booing of the Matera public towards coach Di Lorenzo's team and the Piedmontese home party.
