Last two matches of the season for the Juventus juniors, unfortunately with just as many narrow defeats. Omegna's exit was particularly bitter where after a fluctuating start with bad defenses but some good offensive solutions, the hosts literally collapsed under the blows of an excellent Derthona, led by the trio Piccio, Zogno and Apuzzo; the partial of the second period is a terrible 16-30 which sets the half-match result at 36-55 for the Tortona players. Upon returning to the pitch, Omegna recovered to -5 but the Juventus juniors relied on Zogno's triples, extending the score to +10 at the end of the third period. The home team didn't give up and came back but towards the end of the match, placing the goal that earned them the lead and sending the verdict to extra time. In overtime Derthona paid for the short rotations due to foul problems and Zogno's expulsion, complaining about the refereeing, the subject of contention in a tense final match.

The Tortona cadets' championship ended with Turin's unfortunate defeat at Auxilium Torino. The season ended stingy with successes, but aware of the maturity achieved in a championship of a decidedly high level.

Two more persuasive successes by De Ros' students at PalaCamagna respectively in Bra, galvanized by the good spirit of Bottaro and then in Saluzzo with a convincing performance by the entire collective. The year will end by hosting Valenza next Sunday at 11am at the Palazzetto in Corso Alessandria.

The two matches played consecutively at home last weekend did not bring luck to Magrassi and his teammates. On Saturday against Eridania Torino the performance was all in all positive as they held their own against the top-rated guests for more than three quarters of the match. On Sunday however, also thanks to tiredness, for Lerta & co. an uphill match against Chieri, which closes the seasonal adventure of De Ros' boys, poor in victories, but rich in experience, with performances growing throughout the year.
Minibasketball for Beginners and Eaglets
After breaking ranks for the Squirrels category, on the afternoon of Thursday 1st June it was the turn of the Rookies and Eaglets, involved in the last provincial concentration before the summer break. On the parquet of the Palazzetto dello Sport in Tortona it was the rookies who got involved: the miniathletes born in 2005, in their last experience in minibasketball, colored the pitch of the Uccio Camagna sports hall. Involved in this afternoon of segmented ball are the Mb Centers protagonists in the Provincial and Regional Trophies: Mado Valenza, Novi Ligure and Fortitudo Alessandria, for the provincial grouping, while Derthona represents the fruitful experience of the Regional Trophy.
On the field of the Barcaro Sports Center in Valenza, the final phase for the Aquilotti category with the match between Olympia Casale and Derthona, which sealed the excellent seasonal behavior of our little basketball players.
The final act of Tortona minibasketball will be the traditional Festa – 43rd “Uccio Camagna” Memorial, scheduled for next Friday 9 June from 16.30 pm at the sports hall in Corso Alessandria, with the performance of the various teams of all levels, the classic refreshments and the ritual greetings.
