The new corporate structure of Bertram Derthona presented
Serie A, a dream that came true on the evening of June 29th with the victory in Game 5 on the Reale Mutua Torino pitch. The transition from amateurism to professionalism, the new corporate structure presented today at the Itinera Spa headquarters. Bertram Derthona's approach to the first year of Serie A in its history continues apace.
An important first step today, with the announcement of the entry into the company capital of Doctor Beniamino Gavio, main sponsor since 2017 capable of winning an LNP Super Cup in 2019 and the Serie A2 championship in 2021. Changes also within the 'corporate organization chart that is preparing to experience the championship as a protagonist.
The first to speak was the President of the promotion Roberto Tava, who experienced the Club's rise to the top of national basketball on the front line: ʺI thank those who made this press conference possible and all our fans who have always supported us. The last few years of Derthona Basket have been extraordinary and full of successes, in June we achieved the dream of Serie A. Here I announce that, due to my professional commitments, I have resigned my position as President. I consider myself lucky, now I leave the baton in excellent hands.
After the applause for Roberto Tava, the speech of Doctor Beniamino Gavio followed: ʺWe tiptoed into a company with my family, we have now acquired 51% of the shares. I joined the Board of Directors, I was asked to be President but I preferred to leave the role to the professionalism of Marco Picchi. Ferencz Bartocci will be the CEO. The ambition is to play in European cups in the next few years, I sense great enthusiasm from people. We want to work to extend the pool, grow the youth team and develop the bond with the Castelnuovo Scrivia women's team even further. Everyone's contribution will be needed to make this reality grow further. We want to become a point of reference for all young men and women in the area who are passionate about basketball.
The event then continued with the speech of Marco Picchi, new President of the Club: ʺI am excited about the new role: I want to start by thanking the people who have shared this journey with me over the years, with whom we have always tried to share the Derthona spirit. It is not obvious for me to be the President chosen by Doctor Gavio who has supported us with passion and competence, I feel a great sense of responsibility. We will try to be a big family that welcomes more and more new people. Today is a wonderful day for the Derthona fans.
The words of Ferencz Bartocci, new CEO of Derthona Basket, closed the conference: ʺI am excited and ready for this new adventure, the union of intentions over these years has allowed us to reach new goals. Doctor Gavio has always shown love for the territory, so we want the company to become a tool for involving an increasingly wider user base. We have completed the procedures for admission to the Serie A championship: I want to thank Doctor Giovanni Denicolò for the support he has given us in recent weeks. The company has begun an important organizational journey, Benedetta Abbruzzese, who hosts today's event, will be the new Director of Communication. The intent is to involve Tortonesi in the world of basketball, to continue to grow.
