The new corporate structure of Bertram Derthona presented
Serie A, a dream that came true on the evening of June 29th with the victory in Game 5 on the Reale Mutua Torino pitch. The transition from amateurism to professionalism, the new corporate structure presented today at the Itinera Spa headquarters. Bertram Derthona's approach to the first year of Serie A in its history continues apace.
An important first step today, with the announcement of the entry into the company capital of Doctor Beniamino Gavio, main sponsor since 2017 capable of winning an LNP Super Cup in 2019 and the Serie A2 championship in 2021. Changes also within the 'corporate organization chart that is preparing to experience the championship as a protagonist.
The first to speak was Promotion President Roberto Tava, who has experienced the club's rise to the top of national basketball firsthand: "I thank those who made this press conference possible and all our fans who have always supported us. The last few years of Derthona Basket have been extraordinary and full of success; in June we achieved our dream of reaching Serie A. I am announcing here that, due to my professional commitments, I have resigned my position as President. I consider myself fortunate; I am now leaving the baton in excellent hands ."
After the applause for Roberto Tava, Dr. Beniamino Gavio spoke: "We entered the company quietly with my family, and now we have acquired 51% of the shares. I am joining the Board of Directors. I was asked to be President, but I preferred to leave that role to the professionalism of Marco Picchi. Ferencz Bartocci will be the CEO. The ambition is to play in European competitions in the coming years; I sense great enthusiasm from everyone. We want to work to expand our reach, develop the youth teams, and further strengthen our connection with the Castelnuovo Scrivia women's team. Everyone's contribution will be needed to further develop this organization. We want to become a point of reference for all the local basketball-loving young men and women . "
The event continued with a speech by Marco Picchi, the Club's new President: "I'm thrilled about this new role. I want to begin by thanking the people who have shared this journey with me over the years, with whom we have always tried to share the Derthona spirit. It's no surprise to me that I'm the President chosen by Dr. Gavio, who has supported us with passion and expertise. I feel a great sense of responsibility. We will strive to be a big family that welcomes more and more new people. Today is a wonderful day for Derthona fans ."
The conference concluded with the words of Ferencz Bartocci, the new CEO of Derthona Basket: "I'm excited and ready for this new adventure. Our shared purpose over the years has allowed us to reach new milestones. Dr. Gavio has always shown love for the local area, so we want the club to become a tool for engaging an ever-wider audience. We have completed the admission process for the Serie A championship: I want to thank Dr. Giovanni Denicolò for the support he has given us in recent weeks. The club has begun an important organizational process. Benedetta Abbruzzese, who is hosting today's event, will be the new Director of Communications. The aim is to engage Tortona residents in the world of basketball, to continue growing ."
