Derthona welcomes back Christian Vital: "Grateful and motivated for the opportunity to continue growing with the Club."
Derthona Basket announces that it has reached an agreement with Christian Vital through the end of the 2026-27 season. For the 29-year-old American guard, this marks a return to the Bianconeri after his arrival in the summer of 2024 and the subsequent two consecutive seasons with Derthona, during which he scored 1293 points in 82 games (15.8 points per game) across Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League. The New York native also finished second in the Serie A regular season scoring charts with 18.2 points per game.
Vital returns to Tortona after playing the first part of the current season in China with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. He is scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning.
Declarations
President Marco Picchi: " Beyond our current difficulties, the transfer market sometimes offers opportunities that we must seize. Vital is no ordinary player at Derthona Basket; his connection to the club and all the fans is an added value that we are happy to have back with us again this season."
It was a very quick operation, completed within hours of Christian finishing his experience in China. The boy's determination was decisive, along with the direct intervention of Dr. Gavio, who wanted to give all Juventus fans the joy of seeing Vital back in the black and white jersey. We are truly happy and can't wait to see him back on the pitch.
Christian Vital: "I'm grateful and motivated for the opportunity to continue growing with Derthona. Our experiences, the lessons learned, and the moments we shared speak for themselves. The entire management team welcomed the idea of a "return," and as soon as I started thinking back to how last season ended, I realized we had earned another chance to fight for victory. The Eurocup will be a new experience for me, but I know my teammates will help me adapt. Throughout last season, it was clear to our organization what image we wanted to project and what goals we were working toward. I'd say that everything is even clearer now, and these goals are still aligned with mine."
