Last friendly match: Derthona 77 Treviglio 77
Last preseason friendly before the start of the championship. Once again our Lions faced the Remer Treviglio team but this time in front of the friendly public. The final result was a draw. At the end of the four periods the scoreboard said Derthona 77 Treviglio 77 and it was decided not to play extra time.
Absent Simoncelli and Bianchi hoping to be able to recover both for the championship opener in Rome, coach Cavina leaves with Spissu, Marks, Reati, Brooks and Ammannato. Flowing game in the first quarter with attacks prevailing over defenses for a 24-all score at the first interval. The substance does not change in the second quarter with the coaches drawing heavily from the benches until about three minutes from the lunch break when a partial of 14 to 0 puts the guests decisively ahead. 51 to 41 the score in favor of Treviglio with Marino and Sorakas in evidence while among the locals 11 for Spissu.
Upon returning, however, coach Cavina's boys show a different face but despite this the score at the last interval says 65 Treviglio 57 Derthona. New lead for the guests who return to plus 11 (70 to 59 with 7'30" to go). Tortona gets closer thanks to a partial of 8 to 0 with 4'30” remaining. The match progresses point by point, Reati has the shot for the victory but misses. The final says 77 to 77.
