Coach Cavina's assessment at the end of the first week of work

The first week of work for Orsi Derthona Basket ended with late afternoon training on Saturday. After the meeting held on the evening of August XNUMXth, the group trained by coach Demis Cavina worked from Tuesday to Saturday at the rate of two daily sessions between the Enrico Cucchi sports field and the PalaCamagna parquet, with a visit to the Delle Piane swimming pool and a weight work at the American Club gym.

On the sidelines of the last training session, coach Cavina outlined a mini-assessment of the first week of preparation:
“We were able to start immediately with a good work rhythm, thanks to the players who showed up in good physical condition, having carried out the program designed for them by the trainer Andrea Sisi in the days before the meeting. The ten training sessions carried out, between the athletics field, weight room, swimming pool and gym, allowed us to deepen our understanding of each other on and off the pitch, and I must say that, thanks also to the spirit of a decidedly young age group, the The enthusiasm that accompanied the first efforts surprised me positively.”

First extra work also for the medical staff, who are carefully following guard Phil Greene IV, who is struggling with tendinitis in the tensor fasciae latae of his right leg. Also present in the group is the young Alberto Apuzzo, a winger born in 2000 from Loano, but originally from Valenza, who will be registered with Derthona Basket in the next few days.

The team will have a day of rest on Sunday 21 August, and will then meet at the Enrico Cucchi sports field on Monday morning to resume work; the second week of work will lead to the first match of the season, scheduled for the PalaCamagna in Tortona on Sunday 28th at 18.00 pm against the French team from Hyères Toulon, a team that will debut in the French ProA after having won the ProB last season. Entrance to PalaCamagna will be free.
