It was a battle and in the end our lions emerged victorious thanks to two free throws from Simoncelli with 25 seconds left. Having recovered physical and nervous energy after the long away games in Recanati and Roseto, coach Cavina's boys showed a mean face and determination to bring home the two points even in the most difficult moments (4 down with just over two minutes to go ) and faced with referee whistles that were certainly not impeccable.

At the start only three points were scored by both sides. The pace is frenetic and Losi's triple allows Orsi Derthona to close ahead at 24-22. Cavina rotates the entire roster available and Valenti immediately makes an impact and together with Tavernari signs a 9-2 run for +10 in the 4th minute. Treviglio is tough, has character to spare and at the end of the quarter they get to -3 for the local 45-42 at the end of the first half. After the break the pace slowed down slightly but Tortona remained ahead even if Rotondo almost immediately found his fourth individual foul. He closes at 62-57. Everything comes back into question halfway through the final quarter and now it's point to point. With 2 minutes to go, Crockett scores at 74, Galloway and Simoncelli win the fouls for a new tie at 76, 1'15” from the siren. Galloway excellent rebound in defense launches Losi for the +2 advantage. Treviglia scores from the line for 78 equal to minus 43″, Simoncelli still thinks and then accelerates into the area for the two free throws that make it 80-78 and the game. The PalaOltrepò explodes for the final party.
