1964 – 2014: 50 years of affiliation
Today the official presentation of the 2/2015 A2016 championship took place in Rome, in the CONI hall of honor. Doing the honors will be the highest official of the Olympic Committee, Giovanni Malagò, introduced by the voice of Italian basketball Niccolò Trigari. Next came President Giovanni Petrucci who underlined the importance of the goal achieved by the national team, playing the pre-Olympic, and praised the President of the League, Pietro Basciano, for the innovations brought to this season which is about to begin: The division in two groups of 16 respecting the derby and nationality of the championship; All star game played by the best Italian Under 23s plus two Americans per conference; And no less important is a suffocating "battle" against A1 to obtain two promotions to the top flight.
In this important event, President Basciano wanted to honor the merit of the longest-standing clubs that participate in the LNP championships and which have been affiliated with the FIP for more than 50 years.
