Together in the territory: Derthona, BCC Castelnuovo and DB Lab united in the name Derthona Basket
A single large sporting reality capable of gathering under the denomination Derthona Basketball the excellence of local basketball. This is the choice behind the union, in name and intent, of Derthona, BCC Castelnuovo Scrivia and Derthona Basketball Lab which, starting today, will be recognized by the shared name Derthona Basketball.
The change and unification of naming of the three clubs was strongly supported by all the clubs, who have been active for years in promoting basketball and the positive messages that the world of sport can convey, with the involvement of numerous local players. This communion of intent, active for years, is further strengthened in the 2023/24 season, which will see all the senior and youth teams take to the field carrying the name of the club around Italy. One of the trait d'union of this initiative is certainly the Citadel of Sport, which already in 2023/24 will host the training sessions of the men's Serie A, the training sessions and matches of the women's Serie A2 and the matches of the Interregional Serie B. There facility, which will also contain the Club's new offices, represents the first stone of a project which will see the completion of the work on the new 2024-seat arena in 25/5000.
Derthona Basket, in addition to sporting activity, aims to be even more present in the area, through the creation of initiatives that involve and make protagonists both the schools and all the other actors who, with the Clubs, have organized events during of the last years. One of the first will be hosted right in Castelnuovo Scrivia on September 10th when we will have the honor of hosting Dan Peterson.
In the union of logo and naming, Derthona Basket and Castelnuovo Scrivia will maintain their own identity for fans: the first men's team will still be known as "the Lions", while the women's as "the Giraffes".
The strong territorial identity of the Clubs is also expressed by the consolidated and strengthened link with the Gavio Group, which will once again be the title sponsor of the two first teams, men's and women's, with the brands Bertram e AutospedG which provide a line of lasting continuity with the recent past. The work carried out and the results obtained by the respective youth sectors have brought high-level companies such as Allianz, which has joined the Club's sponsors this year, and Gulliver: the respective logos will appear as title sponsors on the match uniforms of the entire youth and mini-basketball sector (Allianz) and of the teams playing in the Interregional Men's Serie B (Gulliver) and in the Women's Serie B (Gulliver).

With this moment we also celebrate the formal entry of the women's section, which with its history and identity has become increasingly closer to us, to the point of becoming unicum with the men's section: this is a fact of great importance for us".
