How do the two teams arrive?
The last round of the Regular Season saw Umana Reyer Venezia and Bertram Derthona Tortona battle until the last minute at the Palasport Taliercio. The Bianconeri prevailed, winning away for 78-75, driven by Christian Vital's 20 points and Dominik Olejniczak's 12+9.
Seasonal precedents with Umana Reyer Venezia
The two teams have already faced each other three times during the 2025-26 season, twice in the league (98-90 for the orogranata in Round 9 and 78-75 on the final day for the bianconeri) and once at the 2026 Frecciarossa Final Eight, where Derthona prevailed 95-87 in the Quarter-Finals.
Andrea Vicenzutto's point
As usual, the challenge is presented by one of Mario Fioretti's assistants, third in the LBA Coach of the Year voting. "The three games we played against Venice were similar in some ways. For us, they were very challenging from a physical standpoint," says Andrea Vicenzutto.
"Matching the Reyer players' size and athleticism at all positions was never easy, on any of the three occasions. When we managed to do so, both offensively and defensively, the game turned in our favor," says the Juventus assistant coach.
“The idea has always been that: to impact the level of physicality that Venice is capable of putting on the pitch, trying to go above and beyond to take the game in the direction that best suits us,” he continues.
I expect this series to be very intriguing, both to watch and to play. Both teams have a high level of skill to show off and plenty of ways to take advantage and try to score a basket. This will make the series spectacular for our fans.
"It will be key, throughout the various games, to limit their counterattacks and second-possession runs, which we also suffered in the last game in Venice. In attack, as mentioned, we'll have to combat their defensive physicality, thanks to Reyer's great athletes. Executing the details will become key for us," he concludes.
