Tris Derthona: beat Omegna 91 to 70

Third consecutive victory for Orsi Tortona who capitalized on the double home round in the best possible way and remained at the top of the table with full points. Coach Cavina starts with Marks, Reati, Spissu, Brooks and Garri, while coach Magro responds by fielding Smith, Moore, Casella, Zanelli and Iannuzzi.

Difficult start to the match for Paffoni, who saw the hosts get off to a flying start with a 7-0 partial with Marks in evidence. Of the same caliber, however, is Omegna's counter-partial, which immediately rebalances the match with Moore leading his way.

Derthona, however, returns to lead 19-10 and closes the first quarter at 24-18. . The match is intense and Omegna puts the local attack in difficulty, which is not entirely fluid. We go into the long half-time with Tortona ahead 39 to 37 and some difficulties due to fouls spent (4 Spissu and 3 Marks).

The third quarter, however, is a completely different story. Reati gets fired up and scores 5 almost consecutive triples, Brooks is always a factor (yet another double double of 19 points and 11 rebounds will arrive) and the Orsi suddenly finds offensive fluidity for a partial of 30 to 12 for the 69th 49 which effectively closes the game.

Omegna tries but the energy is running low and coach Cavina can remove his players one by one for the deserved ovation of the festive PalaOltrepò. The final reads 91-70 for the home team.

In the press room coach Cavina does not hide his happiness for the result obtained: "It was a difficult match to read tactically. In the first half Omegna put us in difficulty with the 3-2 zone which in an instant became a man defense. After the break, however, we played excellent basketball, trying to play with greater simplicity and without rejecting shots as we did in the first half of the match. We deserved to win and I think that at the moment the secret of this team is the intensity and effort we put in from Tuesday to Saturday. This is the right spirit and we deserve to enjoy this good start to the championship with first place in the standings”
