Kenneth Viglianisi: “I have wonderful memories of Tortona, I'm happy to be back. I will give my all for this shirt."
The latest arrival at Tortona, Kenneth Viglianisi returned to wear the black and white jersey for the second time in his career after his experience in the extraordinary 2013/14 season, which concluded with the team's promotion to Serie A2. His past in the city "was fundamental in my decision to return: I spent some wonderful months here, and the people I had left behind then convinced me, along with the club's growth project, to wear this jersey again ."
There are several reasons that pushed Kenneth to accept the Club's offer, starting with the "great memories that bind me to these colors. I also had the opportunity to speak with Ganeto, with whom I've had an excellent relationship over the last three years at Trapani. The reasons for my choice are, however, very broad: the club wants to do well, as do I, and therefore our shared ambitions played a decisive role."
Returning to Italy after his experience with Mitteldeutscher in the Bundesliga, Viglianisi described the main differences between the two countries in terms of basketball: "The Bundesliga is very structured: they began reorganizing several years ago, and this has allowed them to raise the level of technique and entertainment. The difference between Italy and Germany that is immediately obvious is related to the facilities, as the German arenas are all new and full, people go to watch the games to spend a day with their families: the way they approach the game is different ."
It's impossible for the 92-born player not to look back four years ago, when he was among the architects of the triumph of the team then coached by Antonello Arioli. Since then, " I've changed, because even though I'm still young, I've had the opportunity to experience so many different things. As a player, I've improved in managing individual matches in terms of my feelings; I'm more clear-headed and calm now. On the pitch, I've always given my all to win and played in different positions depending on the needs ."
In closing, Viglianisi then took a look at the A2 championship, which has become even more competitive thanks to the increased number of promotions, which has "encouraged teams who already had a good plan in mind to accelerate, as this could really be their year. Even those who want to stay up have had to make their own choices, given the increased level of the tournament: I believe the regular season has changed its value, the championship is no longer a marathon like it was in previous years but has also transformed into a sprint. Every game, every two points can now truly change the fate of a season ."
