Bertram still on the road: in Scafati we need to extend the positive moment. The words of coach De Raffaele
The matches and close away games of Bertram Derthona Tortona continue without stopping in this challenging March. Landed on Thursday afternoon from the victorious Greek expedition of the previous evening in Patras, today the black and white team leaves again for Campania in the direction of Scafati, where at 19 pm tomorrow they will face the home team Givova for the 22nd day of the Serie A Unipol. At the Beta Ricambi Arena PalaMangano Bertram wants to extend the positive streak opened with the arrival of the current month, four victories between the championship and the Champions League that have relaunched the ambitions of accessing the subsequent phases in both competitions. In the championship this means defending eighth place from the new attempt to assault the team with which it is competing for the precious position, Venezia, awaited an hour after the start of the match in Campania by the home challenge against one of the two teams that share with Scafati the difficult situation in the standings, Cremona. Tortona has exactly double the points of Givova, in twelfth place with its 12, two points ahead of only Pistoia and Napoli.
MOTIVATIONS The current standings sufficiently explain both teams' intense desire to secure victory. In their home game just over two months ago, closing out the first half of the season, Tortona secured a hard-fought and valuable victory that secured qualification to the Coppa Italia Final Eight in the final round. A 99-94 comeback from an 11-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter, Christian Vital decisively breaking the deadlock with a pair of late three-pointers with a minute and a half remaining, earned a 99-94 victory. This was the first time former Tortona player Marco Ramondino has coached Scafati, and he's now coming off two losses with his team, one at home in overtime against Venice and the most decisive one in the last round in Trieste (88-75).
INFIRMARY: Power forward Luca Severini's presence is doubtful, having returned from Greece with fever. In his position, Derthona can count on Justin Gorham, who is coming off his best scoring performance in European competitions, with 21 points in Patras, a personal best in two seasons of cup play.
WHERE TO WATCH IT ON TV The race will be streamed live on DAZN.
QUOTES "From now until the end, all battles will be very tough: everyone is playing for a goal, and Scafati has historically been a tough place," said Juventus coach Walter De Raffaele . "Reopening the Champions League qualification race gives us a huge dose of confidence in realizing that the new path is the right one and we must continue. We had to find a new balance after losing a player like Strautins, who was almost an American given the way he was playing this year. The team has an identity, is united, and has a great desire to work."
