Towards Virtus Segafredo Bologna-Bertram Derthona: the words of coach Ramondino and Tyler Cain

Semi-final time for Bertram Derthona, who tomorrow evening, Friday May 27, will be involved in Game 1 against Virtus Segafredo Bologna. The tap ball will be raised at 20.45 hours at the Virtus Segafredo Arena.

Presenting the semi-final was, as usual, coach Marco Ramondino: “The players are really enthusiastic and happy to play these matches: I consider this a very positive thing indeed. Virtus is a team that has large rotations, players who are very good at creating advantages from the pick'n'roll, in 1v1 situations and big men capable of playing near and far from the basket. Regardless of the individual players we will face, we will have to be good at maintaining a certain level of discipline, accepting to concede something but remaining with the same choices throughout the individual match and the series.".

“One of our strong points in the season – continues the Juventus head coach – it was maintaining a good offensive rhythm, playing with fluidity and entering games quickly after the transition from defense to attack. Offensively we will have to be good at playing our basketball despite the tiredness and difficulties we will encounter, while on a defensive level we will need individual growth in limiting errors and increasing reliability to be competitive. The goal is to do our best, hoping that this will result in making life really hard for Virtus, forcing them to play some excellent matches to beat us.".

He spoke at the press conference alongside coach Ramondino Tyler Cain, which presented the characteristics of the Virtus: “It's a very strong and physical team, with a deep roster. They have proven to be one of the best teams in Europe with many high-level players who can do different things on the parquet. We know their qualities, but we also know that if we play at our maximum level we can be truly competitive, as we have shown throughout the season.".

Cain then spoke about the season in Tortona and the happiness of having reached the semi-final: “Personally, I am happy that the team has reached this goal: I believe that alongside the emotional aspect there must be adequate mental and physical preparation to be ready to play in the semi-final. The team's focus now is to finish the season in the best possible way, from my point of view I felt really good this year in Tortona".
