United we are stronger. The sports collaboration agreement between the youth sectors of Derthona Basket and Virtus Siena has been signed
Virtus Siena e Derthona Basketball together for youth basketball. The rossoblu and juventus clubs have signed a cooperation agreement regarding the youth sector. For the Tuscan club, this is an important agreement with one of the top-level players on the national scene in terms of youth basketball, as demonstrated by the final of the Under 19 Excellence championship achieved by the Piedmontese club.
This is a collaboration based on youth teams, with Virtus playing an important role in scouting young talents mainly in central Italy. Derthona Basket thus becomes the main interlocutor of the Piazzetta Don Perucatti club for the release of boys towards one of the best youth sectors in the country in a club that is investing heavily in its own academy in terms of structures and human resources and is becoming one points of reference in Italy for youth basketball as well as achieving excellent results at senior level with yet another participation in the playoffs of the Serie A championship. The agreement also provides for an exchange of professionalism between the two clubs, with various appointments during the year in which staff and players will meet in Siena and Tortona.
STATEMENTS "For us it is a real honor to be able to announce this agreement with one of the reference youth sectors on the national scene – says the rossoblu sporting director Gabriele Voltolini - This is a company that is investing heavily in human, technical and structural resources, so we are pleased to be able to be their partner in this journey. This is a relationship that began with the situation regarding Andrea Bresciani, a boy born and raised in our youth sector who went to Tortona to continue his journey at the highest levels of Italian youth basketball. From there we decided to sign this collaboration agreement which we are very happy to announce. Thanks go to all the parties involved and in particular to Director Ablatico who immediately proved to be very helpful and collaborative in all aspects and we hope that for us it will be a further step forward both in terms of the recruitment of young talents from our area but also to give all deserving kids a launching pad towards a club that currently represents one of the best Italian realities at both senior and youth level".
The same is true for the Juventus partnership Andrea Ablatico: “I am obviously very happy to be able to intensify relations with Virtus Siena. The splendid relationships with Voltolini were the keystone of this collaboration. In conjunction with an U13 tournament organized by Virtus, in which we will participate with the team coached by Andrea Fanaletti, next weekend we will physically be in Tuscany to formalize the union, of which we have already had good evidence from last season with the passage of Andrea Bresciani in our youth sector. I am sure that this collaboration will be a harbinger of great satisfaction, given that getting closer to Tuscany, the land of basketball, has been an objective of ours for some time."
