UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia-Bertram Derthona: the precedents and exes of the race
New championship appointment for Bertram Derthona who, after the success in the BCL against Igokea m:tel, will be on stage Sunday, November 19 17.30 hours at the PalaBigi against the renewal UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia. The team coached this season by Dimitris Priftis is currently in the group immediately behind the leaders Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Germani Brescia and Umana Reyer Venezia, with a roadmap of five victories and two defeats.
Sunday's match will be the fifth match in Serie A between the two teams: the results so far are satisfactory for the team coached by Marco Ramondino, capable of imposing themselves in three of the four matches played in the Bianconeri's two years in the top flight.
The first match dates back to 6 January 2022, when at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno (the UNAHOTELS competition field before the reopening of the PalaBigi) Bertram led five players to double figures and won 84-89. Three weeks later, at PalaEnergica, Reggio won after extra time (93-98) at the end of a great comeback.
In the 2022/23 season, the team coached by Ramondino won the two points after a low-scoring match (59-63) in the return of UNAHOTELS to the PalaBigi. The 10-25 run in the first quarter was decisive on that occasion, allowing the Lions to control their opponents' comeback attempts. In the return match, played on 19 April 2023, the Bianconeri won 74-68, after forty minutes conducted with authority.
There are two exes from the meeting and both are wearing the Bertram Derthona shirt today: Leonardo Candi he played for five consecutive seasons (from 2017 to 2022) with the UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia jersey, while Arthurs Strautins he took the field with Pallacanestro Reggiana for the same number of years as Candi (5) but in two different moments. The first, from 2014 to 2016, the second from 2021 to 2023. For him, therefore, this is the first race as an ex, while Candi took part in both races last season.
Sunday at the PalaBigi promises to be a meeting to be experienced, with many points of interest.
