A Euroleague Lion: Josovic shines in 2nd place for EA7 Emporio Armani Milano at the Belgrade stage of the Euroleague Adidas Next Generation
A three-day tournament to remember at the Aleksandar Nikolic Arena in Belgrade for Andrija Josovic in the qualifying round of the ANGT , the U18 Euroleague . The 2006-born Montenegrin player from the Allianz Derthona Tortona youth team , loaned for the occasion to EA7 Emporio Armani Milano , was a key player in the Milanese team's run, which led to a qualification for the Finals of the top continental U18 club competition in the final, which they ultimately lost to FC Barcelona.
Precisely against the Blaugrana, winners 104-85, the Slavic winger was the author of one of his best performances, with 15 points (second best scorer of his team) and 9 rebounds in 24'. Previously for Milan there had been successes in the three games of the qualifying group against the Next Generation Team Euroleague (75-68), a victory which coincided with Josovic's most authoritative statistical performance with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 9 fouls suffered for 26 rating, against Red Star Belgrade (97-90) and Maccabi Tel Aviv (89-81).
Josovic closed his experience with the red and white jersey with remarkable averages in the 4 games played: 12.5 points (3rd on the team), 9.2 rebounds (Milan's leading rebounder) and 5.0 fouls drawn for a 13.0 rating , shooting 37.5% from three.
"I thank the entire Olimpia Milano management and coach Michele Catalani for this wonderful opportunity given to Andrija. We hope to see Milano again soon in Italy in other contexts," commented Andrea Ablatico, director of the Tortona youth sector.
