Derthona moved on to Pesaro and achieved their second success in the championship: after the first few minutes in favor of the hosts, Bertram took control of the pace of the match, progressively extending the score until reaching a 17-point margin in the last quarter. The accumulated advantage allowed them to resist Pesaro's return and triumph by bringing five players into double figures: Wright (24 p), Macura (13 p), Filloy and Tavernelli (12 p) and Sanders (11 p).
At the Vitrifrigo Arena the start of the match was Pesaro-style, thanks to the plays of Delfino, before the reaction of Bertram who - with choral initiatives (six of the eight players used by coach Ramondino in the section scored) - first overtook and then it extends to 19-26 in the 10th minute. In the second period Derthona, led by Wright and Macura (30 p as a pair), increased their maximum lead several times, up to +13 (39-52) at the break, which came with the triple at the end of number 55.
Upon returning from the locker rooms, VL makes a great effort to get back into contact, reaching -7 (48-55): in the following minutes, however, Bertram finds fluidity in attack and places a new break which is worth 51-64 of the third siren. At the start of the last quarter, Derthona reached +17 (53-70), before suffering a decline that coincided with the return of VL, capable of coming within just two possessions of a gap several times. In the final stages, baskets by Sanders, Filloy and Wright gave the guests success, who prevailed 81-90.
Thus coach Ramondino at the end of the race: ʺFor us it was a very good match in which, apart from a timid start in defence, we had good continuity: this must be a must for us. Today we moved the ball well especially when the game returned to balance by finding good baskets while in defense we were precise and reliable. We must be very happy with this victory with the awareness that we still have significant margins for growth.
