It's Game 5 time for Derthona in Venice: "We want to play our cards right."
Bertram Derthona Tortona and Umana Reyer Venezia are putting on one of the most beautiful and exciting series of recent years in the Quarterfinals of the 2026 LBA Serie A Unipol Playoffs, with both teams winning their respective home games.
Now it's time for Game 5 at the Palasport Taliercio, scheduled for 8pm on Tuesday 26 May in live on LBATVThe winner will face the winner of another series that went to Game 5, between Virtus Olidata Bologna and Dolomiti Energia Trentino.
How did Game 4 go against Reyer Venezia?
After a Game 3 in which Mario Fioretti's team had put the series back on track, Derthona played a sensational Game 4 on both ends of the court, defeating Reyer Venezia 89-71 in front of their fans. The 14 points each from Arturs Strautins and Tommaso Baldasso were decisive.
Andrea Vicenzutto's point
As usual, the match was presented by one of Mario Fioretti's assistants. "We knew that physicality, athleticism, and concentration would be three key factors in Game 4, perhaps even more so than tactics and technique," commented Juventus assistant Andrea Vicenzutto.
"We're really pleased that we were able to maintain a high level of attack and defense for the entire 40 minutes. In recent games, the team has demonstrated impressive defensive solidity and consistency, which makes us truly proud," he continued.
"Finding such a large number of players alternating between being dangerous throughout the 40 minutes is very important. I hope this is a further boost for everyone to continue being effective in this series," he added regarding the entire team on the scoresheet.
Regardless of the atmosphere and Venice's likely reaction, we want to replicate how we approached the last two games, starting with those three points: physicality, athleticism, and concentration. From there, we want to play our cards right in a arena that's not easy to play against a very talented team. But we know we can give it our all.
