Baldi, young and successful. Bertram Derthona's home debut in the Under 19 Eccellenza championship can be summarized as follows. At the end of an exciting, hard-fought match that was always on the edge of balance, the team coached by Luca Ansaloni beat 5 Pari Torino in a sprint thanks to a tirade in the final minute by Lorenzo Baldi.
The point guard born in 2005 pulled the hosts out of a complicated situation, down by 5 with less than 90" to go (58-63) after yet another positive initiative from opposing point guard Canullo. At that moment Baldi put his exclusive signature on the 7-0 (triple, two-pointer and 2/2 to the free throws of the decisive overtaking at -11″) with which Bertram was able to rejoice at the sound of the final siren.
Derthona's 22 offensive rebounds (4 Tambwe) and the 26 turnovers of the Turin team due to the all-out pressing of the home defense are the other numbers that allowed them to secure the victory at the first attempt in the single group of the first Ligurian-Piedmont phase.
The next challenge will be Monday 18 October at 20pm on the Pallacanestro Vado field, for the second of the 45 days in which the regular season is organised.
