Towards Eurobasket Roma-Bertram Derthona: the words of coach Ramondino and Gražulis
Championship eve for Bertram Derthona, waiting for the match at the Eurobasket Roma, recovery of the first day (initially scheduled for Saturday 5 October 2019) postponed due to the participation of Bruno Mascolo in the FIBA 3X3 U23 World Cup played in Lanzhou (China). The match will be played tomorrow, Tuesday 22 October 2019, at 20.30 pm at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Cisterna di Latina, the pitch chosen by the Lazio team for the home matches of the 2019/20 season.
The Lions are returning from the defeat on the pitch in Rieti, a match which highlighted how ʺContinuity is an important value for every team and the aspect on which we need to improve the most at this moment in every action of the match. Like players and staff – states coach Marco Ramondino – we will have to quickly take stock of the situation and identify areas for growth, trying to be more demanding of ourselves to become betterʺ.
The Juventus coach then focused on the analysis of Bertram's next opponents, supporting how ʺEurobasket is a team with a first quintet made up of quality and experienced players: the two Americans are talented and are supported by excellent shooters such as Loschi, Fattori and Viglianisi. Young players come off the bench and bring energy and an important contribution to the teamʺ.
One of Derthona's best players in the match lost against Zeus Energy Group was Andrejs Gražulis, who - in view of tomorrow's match - believes as ʺthe match against Rieti taught us that we must raise the level of our physicality from the first actions of the game, because no match is taken for granted in this championship. This is something I noticed in the first two months I spent in Italy and I have to say that it only increases the interest around the tournament. Our focus now is on Eurobasket Roma, a very tough opponent who brings a lot of energy to the fieldʺ.
