Towards Bertram Derthona-Allianz Trieste: the words of coach Ramondino and Ariel Filloy

Penultimate match of the regular season for Bertram Derthona, awaiting the challenge atAllianz Trieste for the 29th matchday of the 2021/22 Serie A championship. The taproom is set for 20.45pm at the PalaEnergica Paolo Ferraris in Casale Monferrato.

The match was presented, as usual, by coach Marco Ramondino, who described the characteristics of the next opponents: “Trieste is a team that has great solidity and compactness and a high ability to execute both in attack and defense. The roster has depth, with two players per position, and a well-defined hierarchy. Their athletes are very experienced and good at putting their game system into practice: Davis, Banks and Gražulis are the main offensive references, but many men average double figures. Furthermore, Clark, Delia, Lever and Cavaliero come off the bench, who is always ready to have an important impact when the game requires it."

The Juventus head coach then spoke about the aspects the team will have to focus on to face the match in the best possible way: “It will be necessary to play a game of great defensive attention on all the options of Trieste, who are very good at carrying forward their own game system. We will need to have a great presence in possession as they make few mistakes and are able to get to Banks even as a second and third option in possession. Our focus, as throughout the season, will be on playing the game ahead of us as best we can and having flexibility and changing during the race, which we weren't good at doing against Virtus.".

Coach Ramondino then concluded by talking about the players available for Sunday's match: “Cannon trained with the team during the week, he continues to live with the discomfort in his foot but he is a tough player with great character who has always given us everything and more. I believe he will be part of the game, going beyond the problems that afflict him. About Macura, what interests us at this moment is that he is calm and lives this very important moment peacefully for him, his partner and his family".

Ariel Filloy

The match was presented alongside coach Ramondino Ariel Filloy, who spoke about the first leg and Bertram's performance over the course of the season: “The first leg match, which was one of the worst of the season, was useful for us to understand that it is necessary to always be attentive and always take the field to the best of our ability to try to win. We are a team that works well in the gym, wants to play together and has a group of players and staff that is focused on achieving the same goals.".

“I'm happy with the season the team is having – added Filloy – and together with my teammates I want to reach the playoffs, continuing on the path undertaken during the year. I think that finishing in the top four at the end of the regular season would give us a further boost of confidence to face the playoffs in the best possible way.".
