TORTONA AND LOANO EVEN CLOSER
Derthona Basket is happy to announce the achievement of a multi-year collaboration agreement with Basket Pool 2000 Vado and Pallacanestro Vado (main company and satellite company under common management) regarding the youth sector.
This agreement concerns the possibility for the Ligurians to have an outlet for their best elements within the A2 Juventus team, taking care of monitoring the Italian and foreign youth market in a relationship of close proximity between the technical staff of Derthona (acting headed by Demis Cavina) and that of the Ligurian consortium headed by Marco Prati and Roberto Dagliano.
The Ligurian clubs manage a thriving youth sector, made up of more than 500 members, boasts numerous participations in interzones and national youth finals and has among its members several athletes called up to the various national youth teams in Italy, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia.
Tortona, for its part, has decided to invest time and resources in developing young people to include in its roster. A necessary act, if only for the fresh consecration of the club at the national top with the conquest on the field of the possibility of participating in the newly formed A2 only after a brilliant championship played last season.
As the first act of this very fresh partnership, Derthona Basket has included in its roster, for the 2015/2016 season, the Montenegrin winger (200cm.) Nikola Markus, born in 1996, who had already distinguished himself in previous years in the ranks of the Ligurians both in the National C championship (12.2 + 9 on average) and in the Under 19 Excellence Championship (defeated only in the interzone by Pesaro). At the same time, more options are being evaluated for the next seasons for top-level athletes, starting with the prospect Nenad Simic ('99 – 203 – Serbia) playing for Pallacanestro Vado next season.
