Tommaso Della Godenza and Andrea Fanaletti: new faces of the youth staff

Bertram Derthona is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Tommaso Della Godenza e Andrea Fanaletti, who will be part of the youth sector coaching staff in the 2019/20 season.

ʺWe have expanded our group of coaches – begins Andrea Ablatico, President of the Derthona Basketball Lab – with the acquisition of two young but already experienced coaches. The fact that both have enthusiastically accepted to join our team makes me proud of the work done in previous years and testifies to the consideration that Derthona Basket has outside. I want to welcome Tommaso and Andrea, certain that this will be a collaboration that will last over timeʺ.

CAREER – Born on 11/02/1982 in Sarzana (SP), Della Godenza began his coaching career in 2009/10 at the Speed ​​Basket Club of Parma, where he was on the staff of the women's youth team and Head Coach of the Women's Promotion (in 2011/12). Starting from 2010 he also collaborates with Basket Parma, while in 2011/12 he is Assistant of the Bk Club Valtarese 2000 (A2 Women).

In 2012/13 and 2013/14 he reached the group stage of the National Finals with the Under 17 Women of Basket Parma (first as Deputy and then as Head Coach). In 2014/15 he was Coach of the Azzurrina Federal Technical Centre, with which he won the victory in the Fabbri Tournament (2001 year) and second place in the Bulgheroni Trophy (2002 year). In the same year, as Deputy of Basketball Parma, she reached the National Finals with the Under 17 Women's Elite (eighth place) and with the Women's Under 19 Elite (tenth place).

In 2016/17 he took on the role of head of the youth sector of the Basket Golfo dei Poeti in La Spezia, where he coached the Under 20 and Under 18 Women, reaching the National Finals with both groups. She is also assistant coach of the Spezzina basketball team (women's A1). In 2017/18 he became the Manager of the youth sector of Molise Basket Young Termoli, while in the past season he was Manager of the Guesthouse of the Academy Bk Fidenza, of which he coaches the Under 15 and 13 Male Silver and the Debutants and is deputy of the Under 15 and 16 Excellence. Della Godenza achieved the qualification of National Coach in 2015.

My intent is to bring both my technical and guesthouse management experience to the Club: the kids must feel almost at home, while being aware that there are very specific rules. CAREER – Born on 21/11/1988 in Codogno (LO), Andrea Fanaletti began his career as a minibasketball instructor at the Polisportiva Castellana (from 2007 to 2010). In 2011/12, at the same club, he was head coach of the Under 13 Men's team; he also takes care of minibasketball in MB Gossolengo and CAS Borgonovo, a club where he remains until the end of the 2015/16 season.

In the same years he continued his collaboration with the Polisportiva Castellana, of which he was head coach of the Under 14 Men (in 2012/13), the Under 15 Men (in 2013/14) and – in the 2016/17 year – of the 'Under 13 and Under 16 Men and Serie D. In 2017/18 he held the position of Minibasketball Instructor at the same Club.

Starting from 2013/14, he also began working at Pallacanestro Piacentina where he was Deputy Coach of the Under 17 Elite. In the following year he was Head Coach of the Under 15s and Deputy Coach of the Under 17 Men. In 2017/18 he was Deputy of the Under 20 Eccellenza team and head coach of the Under 16 team, while last season he took on the role of Head Coach of the Under 15 Men's team and Second Assistant of the A2 Series. At Bertram Derthona Fanaletti will also lead a Juventus minibasket group.

These are the first words of Andrea Fanaletti: ʺI'm really happy to arrive in Tortona, because after spending six years in the same company I was looking for new stimuli. I was pleased both by the call from Massimo Olivieri, who explained to me the project that involves him personally, and by the trust that Andrea Ablatico wanted to give me from the first time we met. I will also be part of the mini-basketball staff: it is something that I like and that I have always done in my career, with the exception of the last year. Furthermore, the possibility of training groups of very competitive players is another aspect that convinced me to accept Tortona's proposalʺ.
