The week of the Juventus youth teams: the U17 Eccellenza achieves a double success, the U19 finishes the regular season sixth
It is theUnder17 Excellence to take almost all the stage of the championship week of the youth of Bertram Yachts Derthona.
The Bianconeri coached by Luca Ansaloni achieved back-to-back victories against Novipiù Campus Piemonte, beaten twice in the space of four days. An encore that secures 3rd place in the rankings in the second Ligurian-Piedmontese "Top" phase at least from the attack of the direct competitor from Moncalieri, defeated at home on Saturday evening with an exhilarating photo finish signed by the triple on the siren by Remigio Bellinaso for the final 72-70 and again rejected at PalaCamagna on Wednesday with an even clearer success of 79-61, with Gloris Tambwe MVP with 26 points plus a myriad of rebounds and blocks to dominate the two areas and Lorenzo Baldi replying with 29 points the 21 of the match a few days earlier. All this in front of the players of the Serie A First Team, who came to cheer en masse for their young "colleagues" with Macura and Daum among the wildest. With the success, Derthona is 4 points behind and 2-0 in the direct clash against Novipiù Campus and remains within the top three of the rankings which will still be able to cradle the dream of access to the National Category Finals, set from 20th to June 26th.
The dream of the tricolor tournament had already been in the drawer for some time for theU19 Excellence, which however, after seven consecutive victories and a +12 at the end of the first half in the home match on the last day against Pallacanestro Vado, seemed to be able to close the regular season of the single Ligurian-Piedmontese group in fifth place. Instead, a recovery that was certainly not up to par allowed the Ligurians to overturn the match, much more motivated by the possibility of finishing in fourth place with the simultaneous defeat of Biella Next on the field of the league leaders College Basketball Borgomanero, a combination of results that occurred allowing I'm going to celebrate entering the semi-finals for the regional title. Ansaloni's team from Tortona instead has to settle for the 6th place finish with a record of 12 wins and 10 losses and the related mini-tournament for the 5th-8th place, with the semi-final with the best of three matches which will see it opposed to Basket Torino ranked seventh starting from next Monday, with the first leg set for PalaCamagna at 20pm. Once the championship is over, the concentration will then be entirely on the prestigious event of the Next Gen Cup 30, where from 2022 to 5 May at the Vitrifrigo Arena in Pesaro they will challenge Virtus Segafredo Bologna, Vanoli Young Cremona and Allianz Pallacanestro Pesaro to try to grab the pass to the Final Four of the youth tournament reserved for the U7 teams of the sixteen Serie A clubs.
