The tricolor expedition of the U19 Eccellenza of the Allianz Derthona begins: Monday the debut at the National Finals in Rome
While Bertram Derthona will be busy in Casale Monferrato for the home match against EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, several kilometres away theUnder 19 Excellence of the black and white club will take part in the opening ceremony of the National Finals of category, scheduled at the Luiss Guido Carli University in Viale Romania, in Roma. The shipment of theAllianz Derthona Tortona will leave on Sunday for the Capital, where from Monday the tricolor tournament will start, which will end Sunday May 4. The young Lions have been included in the Group D and they will debut Monday at 18am against theUNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia, a team that gained access to the finals by winning the play-off in Calcinaia (PI) beating Napolie BSL St. LazarusThe next two group matches, scheduled Tuesday 29 e Wednesday April 30 against Trento Basketball Eagle e Blue Orobica Bergamo, will be scheduled based on the outcome of the first match.
The team trained by coach Luca Ansaloni arrives at this appointment strong from the victory in the National Group 4 and the second place achieved in the Legabasket Next Gen Cup 2024/25. To complete the picture of a positive season, also the safety achieved with certainty in the Serie B Interregionale championship.
The assistant coach of the U19 Excellence Andrea Fanaletti presents the black and white expedition: "The team is doing well, we are finishing the Play-in Gold round of Serie B Interregionale, which has allowed us to keep fit. As for the pressure, we remain focused on our path: we have been working well since the beginning of the season and the results are a consequence. We will try to repeat ourselves and play some good Finals like we did last year", says Headlights. “All the groups are quite balanced: the teams that qualified are good teams. Our grouping in the first phase was certainly of a high level, the fact that four teams got through proves it. In the group that awaits us in Rome we will face Reggio Emilia in their debut, a team that we have already faced at the Next Gen, and being the first one will always be the most important for the rest and we will have to be good at trying to break the ice in the best way possible and start off on the right foot. Trento is also a team that we have already faced, while with Bergamo it will be a new challenge: it is an excellent team, that in the first phase ranked immediately behind Milan and Fidenza.”
FORMULA At the end of the three days of the group stage, only the first-placed team will directly access the quarter-finals, scheduled for Friday 2 May. The second and third-placed teams in the group, however, will have to face the play-offs on Thursday 1 May, crossing paths with the second and third-placed teams in Group C, composed of EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, Sifra Pistoia, PGS Don Bosco Crocetta Torino and Tezenis Verona. The semi-finals will be played on Saturday 3 May, while Sunday 4 will be the day dedicated to the finals for the podium, with the one for the title of Champion of Italy 2024/25 scheduled for 19 pm. All the matches will be played in Rome, between the historic PalaTiziano and PalaLuiss.
