The new Lions of the youth team – Part 1: the Italian national team Conte and the Novara native Fonio Fracchia

Stefano Conte he is an important name in the Italian youth scene, as demonstrated by the recent call-up by coach Andrea Capobianco to the U18 European Championships in a blue shirt. Born in 2005, 188 centimeters tall, combo-guard originally from Anzio, Conte showed off himself with his hometown team, the Anzio Basket Club, with which last year he was the top scorer of the Serie C Gold Lazio. At Derthona Basket he will be part of the U19 Eccellenza and Serie B Interregional rosters. “Stefano and his family liked each other from the first day we saw each other at the gym. We also thank the president of his company, Fabio Lico, for his availability in the negotiation”, says the manager responsible for the Derthona Basketball Lab Andrea Ablatico.
Instead, 2007 arrives from Piedmont Gabriele Fonio Fracchia, 1.92m winger from Novara Basket. “Gabriele impressed me last season playing against us in the same U17 Eccellenza championship – Ablatico always says – and as soon as the opportunity arose to take him we took it, thanks to the good relationships with the technical manager of the Novara club Enrico Marietta. He will certainly raise the level of coach Rocco's U17 Eccellenza".
