Brilliant success for the Lions on the pitch in Piacenza, with a high-level team performance and a defense that took away oxygen and solutions from the opponent's attack in the second half, limiting them to just 28 points scored. In attack, the usual Cannon (24 points) and Mascolo (20 points) lead the way, giving the decisive push to the match in the second half, giving the victory to Derthona, who also overturned the difference in goals in the direct match.
First quarter at a good pace at the PalaBanca: coach Ramondino's team imposes its own pace on their opponents, escaping to 8-16 in the 6th minute, led by Cannon and Mascolo, but the hosts manage to stop the escape. The first quarter then ends with the score 17-20. In the second period Piacenza manages to put its head forward but it is once again Cannon who hits the score at the end at 40. Upon returning from the locker rooms the Lions try to escape, dragged by a defense filled with shots and pushed again by the baskets of Mascolo and Cannon, the whose tap-in sets the score at 51-56 in the 30th minute. In the last quarter the gap increases with the plays of D'Ercole, Gazzotti and Tavernelli, setting the final score at 68-75 Bertram.
Of note in the 39th minute was an injury to Cannon who, falling from a jump, suffered a sprained ankle which will be re-evaluated by the medical staff.
